Fashion workshops at the Friary Centre (05.04.14)

On Saturday 5 April, there will be several fashion workshops taking place throughout the day at the Friary Centre as part of a free event to help promote a few of the local stores. There will be five of these workshops running throughout the day where customers can learn a little more about fashion from some top retail representatives.

The Friary Centre can be located right in the middle of Guildford Town Centre, opposite the Casino nightclub on Bridge Street. The shopping mall itself was erected on the site of a medieval monastic house called Guildford Black Friary, hence its current name. The monastery stood in Guildford from 1272 until 1606, when it was partly pulled down, before it was first changed into barracks, then was built over to become the Friary Brewery, before becoming the shopping centre we know today.

The fashion workshops will take place inside on Level One outside Anno Domini (popularly known as ‘AD’), starting at 11.30am and running through to 3.30pm in hourly intervals. The workshops will focus on ‘All About Colour’ and ‘Summer Dressing’, with the emphasis on how to transform a basic outfit using key pieces and statement accessories. So by the end of the day, you should have learnt how to work your wardrobe and accessorize your look with colour and summer dressing at The Fashion Workshop.

On top of this, there will be professional models from top agencies at the centre throughout the day showcasing some of the latest collections from The Friary Centre’s fashion retailers; including MANGO, Primark, MUJI, River Island and many more! And of course, all of the products featured in the event will be available to purchase at selected stores in The Friary Centre whilst stocks last.

What’s more, there will be amazing offers available at participating stores all day, so head down and make sure you don’t miss out on what’s sure to be a great day for all local fashion lovers!
