Hotshots Cheerleaders to partner up with Surrey United

Surrey United are proud to announce a new partnership with Hotshots Cheerleaders which will see the squad become the club’s official cheerleaders. This means the Hotshots will now perform live at all British Basketball League (BBL) home matches at Surrey Sports Park in support of United.

Hotshots Cheerleaders, founded by Tashi Fraser from Camberley, are a Surrey-based cheerleading squad with a mix of local girls aged between 16 and 34 (see full roster below). The cheerleading troupe was formed in 2012 when Aldershot Town FC teamed up with the Albany Dance Academy to form a dance squad and perform on match days (hence the name Hotshots).

The Hotshots have moved on from being the official cheerleaders of the Shots, but will now become the official Surrey United cheerleaders for the Guildford-based BBL team. They will bring a new game night experience to Surrey  fans with high-energy routines, crowd interaction and cheering on the United players during the game.

Hotshots founder and captain, Tashi Fraser, said, “All of us are really looking forward to being part of Surrey United Basketball Club. It’s a great opportunity for us to perform live at Surrey Sports Park match nights and to be supporting the team. We can’t wait to get out on court and put our summer of hard work and rehearsals into action.”

And Hotshots co-captain Amy-Lu Hamer added, “We’re a great bunch of enthusiastic girls and we all bring something different to the table, with a range of skills from dancing to martial arts to gymnastics. The atmosphere is going to be great and we really hope to bring a new in-game entertainment experience to matches.”

Your first chance to see the Hotshots Cheerleaders in action will be when Surrey United take on Worcester Wolves at Surrey Sports Park on Saturday 15 November. Tip-off is at 7pm and tickets are available to buy now HERE.
