Register for Free Youth Sport Taster Sessions

Local sports providers are working with Guildford Council to offer free sports coaching for young people aged 7-16 who live and/or go to school in the borough.

These free sessions are designed to offer youngsters the chance to experience a new sport or develop the skills they already have in a particular sport. They also provide the opportunity for them to try out for Team Guildford’s entry to the P&G Surrey Youth Games 2015.

The Youth Games are the largest annual youth sports festival in Surrey. This year it will be held on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June at the Surrey Sports Park, Guildford.

There is an impressive array of sports on offer this year including: basketball, judo, girls’ touch rugby, boccia and swimming.

Lead Councillor for Rural Economy and Sport Councillor Terence Patrick, said:

“The free sport taster sessions are a fantastic way for young people to experience sport at one of our high quality venues in the borough. With so much on offer, there is something for everyone. I encourage young people to get involved, and you never know, you might even be selected to represent Team Guildford at the P&G Surrey Youth Games.”

Taster sessions will begin after the Easter holidays and will be held at various sports clubs such as Surrey Sports Park, Guildford City Boxing Club and Guildford City Cricket Club.
