Weekend Guide 11/4 – 12/4


guildford_weather_114-12-4It’s going to be a fine warm weekend so why not make the most of by heading outside for a walk and picnic and then follow it up with one of the events in our guide.You can go for a nice walk along the way. We have more information in our guide to the River Wey.

Sport

Between 10am and 2pm at Surrey Sports Park on Saturday there are free tennis coaching sessions complete with video analysis for beginners and improvers of all ages. The day finishes with a fastest serve competition and use of the ball machine. Visit www.surreysportspark.co.uk to book a session.

Surrey United take on local rivals the London Lions in the BBL Championship at Surrey Sports Park in their penultimate home match of the season. Tip-off is at 7pm.

Music

At G Live on Saturday, the world’s official No.1 Eagles tribute band, the Illegal Eagles come to town. Their uncanny ability to capture the emotion of the band’s music and lyrics has won mass audience acclaim both at home and abroad. Tickets are available from www.glive.co.uk

Imperial Leisure bring their mix of catchy hip-hop, ska and punk tunes to the Boileroom on Saturday.

On Sunday is The Big Show. An group of amateur musicians brought together by Play Live UK will be performing a variety of tunes.

Theatre

Sequins on my Balcony is a play at the Yvonne Arnaud Mill Studio. It’s an uplifting one-woman show about breasts, belly dancing and beating the odds. More information about the play and booking information is available at www.yvonne-arnaud.co.uk
