Weekend Guide 21/2 – 22/2

guildford_weather_21For our weekend guide this week we’re focusing on music and theatre at the Yvonne Arnaud, G Live and Electric Theatre.

At the Yvonne Arnaud this weekend is This Business of Murder.

An acclaimed psychological thriller, The Business of Murder is about three people in a flat for different reasons but as the plays goes it becomes clear they’re all in the same business….The Business of Murder.

In the Yvonne Arnaud’s Mill Studio is Five Children and It, the family favourite written by E. Nesbitt, author of The Railway Children. When the five children move from London they find a Sand Fairy in a gravel pit who grants them wishes and takes them all kinds of strange adventures. Specially adapted with live music, mime and puppetry this is something to take the children to at the end of Half Term.

More information on these plays and booking information can be found at www.yvonne-arnaud.co.uk

At G Live on Sunday is the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra as part of Guildford International Concert Season playing a trio of Tchaikovsky’s work – Romeo & Juliet, Violin Concerto and Symphony No. 6.

At the Electric Theatre there’s The Princess and the Frog, a ballet about a princess who has to befriend a frog in order to get her favourite ball back from a pond.

There’s also the a Disco Dance Workshop by Boogie Pumps who will teach kids a fun routine to get them energised and enthusiastic about dance. This is followed by a Kids Disco Party for all the family with dancing competitions for children  AND adults.
