Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses of a fatal collision, involving a motorbike and lorry, on the A3 near to Guildford on April 14.
The tragic but all too common incident happened at around 11.14am on Thursday April 14, the collision taking place near the Guildford Cathedral slip road on the Northbound Carriageway of the A3.
The victim of this incident, a man in his 20′s from Farnham, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The collision resulted in the northbound A3 being closed for nearly six hours, in order to allow emergency services to tend to the young biker. The southward section of the A3 was also temporarily shut to let an air ambulance safely land.
Sergeant Eddie Ryan from Surrey Police Collision Investigation Unit said:
“I am urging anybody who witnessed the collision or events leading up to the collision to get in touch with us.”
“Any information you have could help us piece together the events of this tragic incident.”
The exact series of events that led to such a painful outcome is still unclear. Surrey Police urge anyone with information that could help to come forward and contact the Collision Investigation Unit as soon as possible, which can be done so by calling 01483 639922.
