Bar des Arts will be hosting a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday 26 September from 10am as part of the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s flagship event and last year 154,000 people signed up to the coffee morning, raising a record £20million for the charity. This year Macmillan is hoping to raise even more money, so head on down to this delightfully elegant café where your support is greatly needed!
Co-owner of Bar des Arts, Sara Burks commented, “We host a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan every year and it is always a great event. We will have tea, coffee and cake for people to purchase and £1 from every cake sold will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
“It is an extremely worthy cause so we hope lots of people come along. It’s a great event to bring friends and family for a catch up or you can use the opportunity to meet new people.”
Sara added, “People are welcome to make additional contributions to the charity on the day as well as bring along any cakes they’ve made at home. We are hoping to raise lots of money for the charity to go towards the work it does.”
So why should you head down and help raise funds? So that people facing cancer can have the support they need to feel more in control of their life, from the moment they’re diagnosed, through treatment and afterwards. Plus, you also get to eat some delicious, locally homemade cakes that will be decorated in Macmillan’s colours.
With a coffee and a cake costing £3 a person and one third of that money going to charity, this should be a lovely event that will raise money for a great cause!
