Keep The Face Movember gig at the Kings Head, Quarry Street (30.11.13)

‘Keep The Face’ Movember team was started up by a group of regulars at The Kings Head, Quarry Street in memory of Tom Ellis Jones’ mum who recently passed away from cancer. Knowing how cancer can affect anyone, they decided to do their bit by supporting Movember and forming their very own fundraising team which has raised nearly £1,300 to date for Cancer Research.

Ben Fountain and Jon King, who are involved in the local Open Mic Night scene around Guildford decided they would write a song for Movember (view video HERE) to help raise awareness in the local community about what Movember is all about. As part of the video they went out onto the streets of Guildford and asked random members of the public to get involved by spawning cardboard cut-out moustaches and dancing for the camera. The video has received recognition as it has since been uploaded onto the official Movember website and is even on the shortlist for a MOSCAR!

As part of their fundraising effort for MOVEMBER, Ben Fountain and Jon King have organised a Fancy Dress, Mo-Themed, charity gig to help raise money for cancer research. The event will be held at the Kings Head, Quarry Street on Saturday 30 MO-vember. If you would like to come along then the more the merrier and please feel free to invite all your chums.

There will be prizes given for best fancy dress as well as live acts such as Lauren Crystal, Anaconda, Dan Blood, Louis Piranha, Simon Harvey and more playing through till the early hours of Sunday morning! Ben and Jon will also be performing their Movember song and although entry is free, there will be donation buckets going round in a bid to raise some extra cash for this great cause!

If you are unable to make it, please feel free to apologise by donating to the ‘Keep The Face’ team by clicking HERE and donating to a great charity.
