Planning to head to London for NYE? Here are your last trains home & info on the late tube times


There will be free travel between 11:45pm on New Year’s Eve and 4.30am on New Year’s Day on bus, Tube, tram, DLR and London Overground services. A New Year’s gift from TFL. Here are the details:

 

NEW YEAR’S EVE

 

TUBES

 

District line

No service between Kensington (Olympia) and Earl’s Court

 

Piccadilly line

No service between Uxbridge and Rayners Lane

 

Waterloo & City line

Last trains at 02:40 on Thursday 1 January

 

Tube station closures

 

Some Tube stations will be closed completely or for periods at a time for crowd control and safety purposes. Tube station changes include:

 

Blackfriars Tube station will close at 23:30

Charing Cross Tube station

Cockspur Street Exit to Trafalgar Square will close at 19:00

- Exit 1 and 2 to Villiers Street will close at 20:00

- Exit 7 to St Martin-in-the-Fields will be exit only from 20:00

- The whole station will be exit only from 23:45

Covent Garden Tube station will be exit only from 19:00

Embankment Tube station:

- The riverside exit will close at 16:00

- The whole station will close with trains not stopping from 23:30 until approximately 00:15 on 1 January

Lambeth North Tube station will close at 23:30

Leicester Square Tube station will be exit and interchange only from 20:00

Southwark Tube station will close at 23:30

Victoria Tube station will operate as normal. However it is expected to be extremely busy

Waterloo Tube station will operate as normal. However it is expected to be extremely busy

Westminster Tube station:

- Exit 1 to Victoria Embankment, Exits 2 and 3 to Bridge Street and Exits 5 and 6 to Parliament Street will close at 16:00

- The whole station will close and trains will not stop from 21:30

Wood Green will close between 22:30 and 07:00 on 1 January

Unless stated, all Tube stations will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so.

 

 

OVERGROUND

 

Richmond to Stratford

 

A Saturday service will operate until normal finish time, then additional trains will run between Camden Road and Stratford only every 15 minutes.

Highbury & Islington to West Croydon/Clapham Junction

 

A Saturday service will operate until normal finish time, then additional trains will run between Highbury & Islington and Crystal Palace/West Croydon every 20 minutes.

Services to Amersham and Chesham will be reduced. There will be intervals of up to 40 to 60 minutes between trains.
