Star gazing event at Surrey Uni – Tonight!

Tonight, Wednesday 4 February 2015, the University of Surrey will unveil its new teaching and outreach telescope to the public. There will be a free special event where guests will get the chance to view Jupiter and its moons, the Andromeda galaxy and The Orion Nebula in detail.

Held at the University of Surrey’s Stag Hill campus from 18.00 to 19.30, the event is open to the public and will feature an interactive presentation from an Astro-Physics expert, highlighting the wonders of the night sky, alongside live images from the new telescope.

This is a fantastic opportunity for star gazers of all levels to come and experience the night sky and understand more about our work here in Surrey on dark matter, galaxy formation and cosmology,” said Professor Justin Read, of the Astrophysics group at the University of Surrey.
